VISUAL IDENTITY / EDITORIAL DESIGN / PHOTOGRAPHYBamburen is a sustainable design project created as a tribute to the legacy of Michael Van Beuren —a Bauhaus designer and key figure in the history of modern furniture in Mexico during the 20th century.

From his studio in Cholula, Puebla, his grandson Tiago Solís Van Beuren —a visual artist and designer— revisits some of his most emblematic pieces in bamboo, blending tradition, innovation, and material awareness.

The visual identity starts with a logo inspired by the silhouette of the Alacrán chair, one of Van Beuren’s most iconic works. The graphic system combines archival material, a flexible grid, and Gelion —a sans serif typography with mid-century references— chosen for its structural clarity and ability to reflect the brand’s core principles: formal simplicity, compositional balance, and functionality. All guided by a clear philosophy: “Less is more.”
